Meet The Doctor 1

Dr. Pollan was born in Scranton, PA, but grew up in East Stroudsburg, PA with his two brothers and parents. In 1969 he attended Penn State University and in 1972 he began his Optometric studies at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. After graduation in 1976, he and his wife Sue moved to Allentown, where he opened his first office to practice Optometry. One year later, he opened his second office in Kutztown and became associated with Towne Vision Center in Kutztown. Fourty years later, Dr. Pollan still has his office in Kutztown.

While living in Allentown, Dr. Pollan and Sue raised two daughters, now age 39 and 42. Both daughters are grown, married and have children of their own. Currently, Dr. Pollan and Sue live in the west end of Allentown with their loyal dog named “Izzi”, a Cavachon.

In the late 1970’s, Dr. Pollan was President of the Parkland Area Jaycees, a service organization whose goal was to train young leaders and perform community service. Later, in the early 1990’s, he was President of the Lehigh Valley Optometric Society, the local group associated with the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. More recently, Dr. Pollan served on the board of his local synagogue and later served as one of the Vice Presidents.

Today, Dr. Pollan enjoys spending time with his family and relaxing with them occasionally at their family lake-house in Northeast PA. His favorite hobby is completing home improvement projects either in Allentown, or at Lake Winola.
